Colouring black and white images is not new. In the days of photographic prints it was done by hand and painted on using special inks. Now we can do it digitally and far more accurately, bringing back life to old images. However, we can do so much more than just colour black and white pictures. Our colouring services include:
There are limitations to what we can do, but we will do our best and are always happy to discuss a project with you for free with no obligations.
With regards to recolouring a black and white image, this process does not restore it to the original colours. Like the old hand-painted ink method, we can only add new colour into the image, so it will always only be an approximation of the original. The more information you can provide us with, the more accurate we can make the final image (such as telling us Granny had blue eyes etc) otherwise we will use our best guess.
The above is only a guideline. Every project is different and the time required to complete it may vary. We recommend you contact us for an estimate beforehand.
Working from a hardcopy source will give the best results as we will create a digital copy using our professional photographic scanner. However, we understand you may be reluctant to part with your precious pictures, so you can scan them at home and send them to us following the guidelines below.

Save scan at maximum or 100% quality settings for JPEGs. This should result in file that is about 6-7MB in size for a standard sized photo print.
